Station 19 Richards Bay:The volunteers at station 19, Richards Bay, had a long night with not much sleep.They were called by Richards Bay Port Control at 23h55 to tow a yacht that was four miles off-shore. Spirit of Richards Bay was launched at 00h40 and proceeded to the yachts position, coming alongside at 01h30 to attached the tow. After a two hour tow they put the yacht along-side at the small craft harbor at 03h10 and Spirit of Richards Bay was recovered at 03h30. This gave the crew time for an hour nap before headding off to work!Station 30 Agulhas:The fishing boat AHI lost power off Struisbaai and with the sea building and weather getting worse they asked for assistance. Vodacom Rescuer VII was sent out and after an extensive search found the vessel and took it on tow back to Struisbaai harbour.
