The NSRI’s annual Open Day will be taking place on Saturday, 30 September 2023, from 10am to 3pm. Don’t miss this chance to meet the people who make our work possible.

The NSRI is excited to welcome you to our much-anticipated annual Open Day, a celebration of maritime safety, community, and adventure.

What to expect:

  • Meet the crew: Get to know the brave and dedicated men and women who make up the NSRI family. Chat with our volunteers, ask questions, and gain insight into the challenges they face while ensuring our communities are safe in and around water.
  • Interactive displays: Explore equipment, vessels, and technologies used in sea rescues. Learn how we stay at the forefront of maritime safety.
  • Family-friendly fun: Bring the kids! There will be a range of activities planned at different stations to keep the whole family entertained, from talks about the history of the NSRI or a particular base, to demonstrations of rescue equipment and how to perform bystander CPR; talks about the station vessels; and even a few trips out on vessels with crew (weather dependent).
  • Community engagement: Discover how you can become part of the NSRI family. Whether you're interested in volunteering, supporting our cause, or simply learning about water safety, there’s a place for you here.

Join us on Saturday, 30 September 2023… Together, we can make our coasts safer for everyone. But be warned: you may just sign up as a volunteer!
