SEA RESCUE – St Francis Bay – Wednesday, 26th November. Patient casualty evacuated off Chokka fishing boat:At 14h30, Wednesday, 27th November, NSRI St Francis Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from the Chokka fishing boat SOUTHERN FIGHTER reporting a local 39 year old fisherman onboard suffering rib fractures from unreported causes.The Chokka fishing boat was denied permission to enter the Port of St Francis Bay because of 5 to 6 meter breaking swells in the harbour entrance and a gusting to 35 knot South Easterly wind and NSRI St Francis Bay were tasked to go to fetch the patient at sea, 5 nautical miles from port.NSRI St Francis Bay launched SPIRIT OF ST FRANCIS II and on arrival on-scene the fisherman, walking wounded and in a stable condition was taken aboard the sea rescue craft and brought safely to shore where the fishing company representatives took the fisherman to a doctor for further medical evaluation.NSRI Station21 SFB 2014-11-26 B LR
