At 03h30 on the 4th of January the Agulhas NSRI duty crew were called out to medically casevac a 67 year old crewman from the fishing vessel Rigel 4.
The NSRI Agulhas volunteers launched Vodacom Rescuer VII and transferred the man onto the rescue boat 1,5 nautical miles off Struisbaai. He was brought back to the Agulhas Sea Rescue base at Struisbaai and handed over to a METRO EMS ambulance that took him to hospital at 04h30.
The NSRI volunteers finished washing down and preparing the rescue boat Vodacom Rescuer VII at 05h00.
