DURBAN – Saturday, 24th November, 2012.At 10h00 on Saturday, 24th November NSRI Durban volunteers were called out following a request from Police Search and Rescue to assist with a search operation in the Umgeni River for an 11 year old boy who had gone missing at midday yesterday.Clifford Ireland, NSRI Durban station commander, said that a search by Police had revealed no sign of the child and NSRI were asked by Police Search and Rescue to cover an area of the search site today.Our duty crew launched an inflatable river raft and two canoes to search but despite an extensive search no sign of the child has been found and Police will continue with the ongoing search operation.
