Victoria Lake NSRI volunteer Willem Sprong received the 2012 Humanitarian Excellence Award from his company GIBB (Pty) Ltd).This year the Gibb annual awards function was held in East London in early November. Willem received the award for his involvement in the community, which includes being the Chairman of the Community Policing Forum, a member of the Gift of the Givers Search and Rescue Team and for his involvement with Sea Rescue. He also volunteers as a medic at the local emergency services as well as in Heidelberg!Gibb also held a fundraiser in East London on the 10th of November for NSRI. The collection raised R5000 and was handed over to the East London Station. Mr Linda Nama (Chairman of the Committee), Willem Sprong and Andre Bosch (Chief Operating Officer for GIBB). Gibb staff members raised R5000 for NSRI which was handed to the East London volunteers.
