The Gauteng Life Boat Circle, under the facilitation of Rhona Manack, held abrunch get together for their members at the International Hotel School inMorning Glen. Their young students enrolled for the chef's course presenteda wonderful spread of both savoury and sweet items - and as a gift to NSRI!A very special Speaker addressed the members. He is Dr Pieter Landsberg,who formed the original Station 22 Mobile Unit of NSRI back in 1984.Together with trained volunteers from the SA Red Cross, divers and cox'ns ahighly successful specialised unit was set up to respond to casualtiestrapped in upturned racing boats, and similar tricky rescues.Amongst the members and bequestors of Gauteng's Life Boat Circle were manylong-time supporters, who witnessed Jim Morrison, receive his BequestorCertificate and badge from National Bequest Officer, Margaret McCulloch, upfrom Cape Town to share in this special occasion.
