On Thursday 16 August some members of the Tokai Probus club braved cold, wet, wintery conditions to undertake a tour of Station 10, Simonstown. They were told about NSRI as a whole by facilitator of our Life boat Circle, Margaret McCulloch, and taken through various interesting rescues undertaken by the Simonstown crew by senior crewman Dennis McKillen. While the promised boat trip could not be undertaken due to the wild weather conditions, many of the Probus members expressed the hope to visit the rescue base one Sunday while the crew were training.
