The 2012 BloodScan Jeffreys Bay Surf Challenge took place from 28 to 30 April at the popular 'Point-break' in Jeffreys Bay.Station 37, Jeffreys Bay, was on active standby for the duration of the event, with our Discovery Rescue Runner on the water and our crew on the beach, along with 24/7 Paramedics.Fortunately there were no serious injuries, other than the odd cut and a few cases of hypothermia, following Saturday mornings 4km open water swim, that took place under 'English Channel Rules' - i.e. no wetsuits allowed. It was a big privilege for us to to be involved with such an amazing event and a BIG thank-you to BloodScan for the kind donation to our Station. All pictures by RRAD Photography.
