Pete Frielinghaus, who joined NSRI in the early 1970’s read this post about the renovations to the Plettenberg Bay Sea Rescue base, and sent this photo of what the boat shed looked like when he joined. “We’ve come a long way since then!’ said Pete.UPDATE 15 November: Here are the most recent pictures of the Plettenberg Bay Sea Rescue base - the renovations are moving along nicely and the new design looking fabulous.The Plettenberg Bay Sea Rescue base’s renovations are well underway and the building is on the way to completion. NSRI Honorary Life Governor, and the project manager for the renovations, Ian Hamilton, is thrilled with the way that it is taking shape.“ Its going really well. The guys are going to have a very nice base with a top class Operations room as well as a lecture room.“ The base will be inhabited by Christmas,” says Ian.Thank you to Italtile for their generous support.
