At 14h42 NSRI Mykonos volunteers were called out for a rubber-duck that was found floating unmanned between Malgas and North Bay.We launched our rescue craft Gemini Rescuer II to find the skippers training yacht, 34 South, had taken the rubber-duck under tow after finding it drifting.We took over the tow and brought it to our sea rescue station at Mykonos.The red rubber duck, a Gemini 4.2 meter, with a 30 horse power outboard motor and an old registration number, which has been pulled off the boat, has a capsize kit, a hand-held GPS and a bag of food onboard.No reports have been received of any persons overdue or missing.The SA Police Services and SAMSA (the South African Maritime safety Authority) are investigating and NSRI are appealing to anyone with information as to who the boats owners are to contact the SA Police Services in Langebaan.
