NSRI Richards Bay received a call from Port Control at 21h07 asking us to assist the yacht Spin Drift as she was aground in the channel on her way to the yacht club. She however, managed to get herself free before we launched. Spin Drift had come up from Durban and was unsure of the area so from our vantage point we guided her towards the yacht club. They lost a prop while getting free and so will be withdrawing from the Inhaca RaceWhile assisting Spin Drift we noticed a mast swaying to about 60 deg either side and asked Port Control if there was another yacht requiring assistance. The yacht Pallucci came onto the radio informing us that she was indeed aground just off pelican Island.R19 was launched at 21h40 and pulled the yacht off the sand bank at 22h10. She was escorted to the Zululand Yacht Club.
