Sea Rescue – Robben Island – 04 April, 2011: Diver missing:At 17h28 NSRI Bakoven and NSRI Table Bay were called out by the Transnet National Ports Authority following reports of a diver missing at Robben Island.Sea Rescue craft from Bakoven and Table Bay searched well into the night. No sign of the missing diver, 23 year old Laban van den Heuver, who is 6.4 foot tall, with brown green eyes and brown hair was found. He is from Durban.He may have gone missing as early as 02h00 while diving at Robben Island. The people he was with at the time may have conducted their own search before involving rescue authorities.A police Port of Entry Security team will continue a search in the morning and the Police Dive Unit have been informed and will continue a search.Rescue authorities are in contact with the family of the missing man and all efforts are being employed to find the missing diver.Anyone with information that can assist rescue authorities in their search should contact the NSRI on (021) 4493500 or 0823803800 or Police on 10111.
