The Queen Mary 2 sailed into Durban harbour just before 07h00 this morning A large crowd of people, gathered on the quay side, cheered as two tugs turned on their fire jets, making a grand display in the early morning light. A lone piper, standing on the quay in front of the NSRI base, added to the amazing atmosphere. Thirty people had donated R200 to join the Durban volunteers at the rescue base - one of the best positions in the harbour to watch the huge passenger liner enter port from. After she was through, talk turned to photography and our guests enjoyed breakfast with their hosts.
Thanks NSRI
