The National Sea Rescue Institute invites applicants for the role of Digital Platforms Specialist. The role is responsible for owning and governing the NSRI’s digital and owned platforms, including our website, online store and social media channels. This is a specialist role focused on building and maintaining the platform infrastructure, fit and governance that serves the needs of the business, including direct marketing, communications and retail.. It involves working with IT and external partners to achieve objectives. The NSRI has 50+ stations, satellite stations and Lifeguard premises across a volunteer network spanning 1500+ volunteers.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in marketing, digital media, information technology, or a related field
- Foundational experience in basic web development including Html, CSS or Javascript
- Certification in Google Analytics, UX design, or e-commerce platform administration (e.g. Shopify, Wordpress, Craft, etc.)
- Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience managing a website and e-commerce platform in a live, production environment
- Experience briefing, managing, and holding external web developers or agencies to a delivery standard, including landing page builds aligned to specific campaigns
- Working knowledge of content management systems, basic web infrastructure, and platform security principles
- Experience with social media platform administration and content scheduling tools
- A working understanding of UX principles and conversion-path design, particularly for donation, campaign, and checkout flows.
- Proven ability to manage a shared publishing calendar across multiple internal stakeholders with competing priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver content on owned digital platform (Website, owned social media, and shopify)
- Responsible for the implementation of campaign rollouts on the website and other owned digital platforms, as briefed by marketing.
- Responsible for the overall look, feel, and relevance of content on owned digital platforms.
- Administer the Shopify store, ensuring product listings, checkout flows, and payment integrations function correctly and support Retail’s revenue objectives.
- Manage the publishing calendar and content scheduling across the website and social channels (Facebook, Instagram, and others).
- Engage and manage external web developers and agencies, ensuring landing pages and website builds are fit for purpose, delivered on time, and execute effectively on active campaigns.
- Brief external developers clearly on campaign requirements and hold them to agreed delivery standards.
Maintain platform performance
- Monitor overall platform performance, including traffic and sessions, page load time, bounce rate, average session duration, pages per session, and conversion rate.
- Identify and escalate issues as they arise, including page load errors and integration issues.
- Maintain the website and other NSRI digital platforms, ensuring functionality, uptime, and technical reliability.
- Manage platform development, hosting, integrations, and security in coordination with information technology.
- Manage and maintain SEO
Manage platform governance & UX
- Maintain a consistent design system, tone, and access control framework across all owned platforms.
- Manage user access and permissions for staff and agencies working across these platforms.
- Design and continuously improve user journeys across the website and Shopify store, particularly around donation, campaign, and checkout flows.
Provide reporting & stakeholder collaboration
- Provide platform performance reporting (traffic, conversion, uptime, campaign support metrics, landing page performance) to the Direct Marketing Manager and commissioning disciplines.
- Coordinate with Creative Services, Brand Marketing, Communications, and Retail to ensure each discipline’s briefs are delivered accurately on shared platforms.
