Nic Stevens, NSRI Mykonos deputy station commander, said:At 18h52, Friday, 16 October, NSRI Mykonos duty crew were activated following eye-witnesses reporting to adult males on hydrofoil boards appearing to be in difficulty off-shore of Schaapen Island on Langebaan LagoonThe sea rescue craft Spirit of Surfski 5 was launched and on arrival on the scene we located the 2 men on their hydrofoil boards and a 12 year old boy was with them on a paddle board.The child had paddled approximately 2 nautical miles to reach the 2 hydrofoil sail boarders in an effort to assist them.The 2 men and the child were taken onboard our sea rescue craft and their equipment was recovered and they were brought safely to shore and no further assistance was required.
