Article in the District Mail about the potential and challenges of the Pink Buoy project in the Strand.The national average rate of theft of Pink Buoys has hovered between 10 and 18 %, yet along the 2km stretch in Strand from Mostertsbaai to the pipe, 5 Pink Buoy installations have been repeatedly stolen (4 buoys stolen off each pole in a matter of months - highest in the country).As a known downing hotspot, NSRI has called on the community to get involved.The Pink Buoys at Gordon's Bay and Dappat se Gat have not been affected, thanks to the community taking ownership.
