Jacques Kruger, NSRI Richards Bay duty coxswain, said:At 17h00, Tuesday, 06th November, NSRI Richards Bay duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) following a request for assistance from a yacht reporting motor mechanical failure in the Port of Richards Bay and requiring assistance to get to her mooring.The yacht had departed Richards Bay for Durban but caught in strong South Westerly winds the yacht returned to Richards Bay but discovered on entering Port that the yacht had motor mechanical failure and required assistance to get to her moorings.The sea rescue craft Spirit of Richards Bay was launched and on arrival on the scene, without incident, the yacht was rafted to our sea rescue craft and brought safely to her mooring at Tuzi Gazi Marina and no further assistance was required.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
