In celebration of Sea Rescue's 50th Anniversary, our Station 16 Strandfontein Rescue base hosted a two day Open Day this weekend. Many friends and family of crew and past crew as well as donors and supporters visited the station to show support. Special memories of their rescue base in the founding years put together in a video was played for all supporters to enjoy and learn about the rich history of the Station. Strandfontein rescue base was established in 1970 so have reached nearly 47 years of saving lives.Guests were welcome to a base tour and enjoyed some light refreshments while meeting the crew.
