MONWABISI:At 12h15, Saturday, 10th September, NSRI Strandfontein duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) following reports of paddlers in difficulty off-shore of Monwabisi.The Sea Rescue craft Grand West CSI was launched and an NSRI rescue vehicle, the SA Police Services, WC Government Health EMS, Law Enforcement and Law Enforcement Marine Unit and Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services responded.It was established that six paddlers, from the Helderberg area, believed to be aged in their 40's, launched on 3 double surf-skis to paddle from Strand to Monwabisi. During the paddle we believe that they were separated when one surf-ski came ashore at Monwabisi with two men onboard who raised the alarm. It is believed that one surf-ski capsized forcing the two men onboard to swim ashore and that surf-ski was swept out to sea and on NSRI's arrival one surf-ski with two men onboard remained missing.During a sea and shore search that missing surf-ski washed ashore at Blue Waters where NSRI and emergency services responded to their location and those two men were not injured.None of the six men were injured.TABLE BAY:At 15h10, Saturday, 10th September, NSRI Table Bay launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of Day to rendezvous with the yacht Durette, with 2 men and a woman onboard, sailing from Hout Bay to Table Bay with their yacht suffering boom damage in strong winds sustained while jibing.The sea rescue craft Spirit of Day rendezvoused with the yacht off-shore of Granger Bay and assisted the yacht into Port without incident.RIVERSDALE:While returning from an NSRI surf rescue training course at Wilderness, on Sunday afternoon, NSRI Kommetjie crew, in an NSRI rescue vehicle, happened upon a motorcycle accident believed to have been a hit and run where a motor vehicle collided with a motor bike on the N2, Riversdale. The motor vehicle allegedly fled the scene leaving the motorcyclist seriously injured in the road.The NSRI Kommetjie team, trained medics, stopped and rendered medical assistance to the motorcyclist. He is believed to be aged in his 50's, and suffered a serious leg and foot injury. When Western Cape Government Health EMS and Police arrived on the scene the NSRI Kommetjie team continued to assist paramedics to treat the motor cyclist before he was transported to hospital by ambulance in a serious but stable condition.Police reportedly chased after the vehicle that had been involved in the accident but NSRI are not aware if those involved were apprehended.RICHARDS BAY:At 16h13, Sunday, 11th September, NSRI Richards Bay duty crew launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of Richards Bay and Spirit of Round Table II to rendezvous with the yacht Quest, with five crew onboard and their yacht suffering motor problems.The yacht had departed from Richards Bay for Tanzania the day before but the crew opted to turn around at Cape Vidal after discovering their fuel to be water contaminated and rendering their motor unusable.They were able to sail into the Port of Richards Bay where they were met by NSRI Richards Bay's sea rescue craft and they were assisted to a safe berth without incident and they will flush the motor and get fresh fuel before departing on their voyage.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
