At approximately 15h30, NSRI Station 10 Simon's Town noticed a penguin in distress outside of their boathouse. After following the SPIRIT OF SAFMARINE III back to the boathouse and waiting outside in the water, the penguin made use of the station's slipway to come out the water. The NSRI volunteers were able to wrap it in a blanket and take it into the ladies' room while National Parks made their way to the base to collect the bird. The penguin was found to be dehydrated and very cold but will be taken to SANCCOB for rehabilitation and care.
