'At 11h32, Monday, 20th October, NSRI Port Elizabeth volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports authority following a request for medical assistance from the 186 meter bulk carrier STOVE TRANSPORT, last Port of call Cape Verde Islands and sailing to Malaysia, reporting a 43 year old Filipino crewman onboard suffering from Kidney Stones.'Our NSRI Port Elizabeth volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft SPIRIT OF TOFT and rendezvoused with the vessel 2 nautical miles off-shore in 2 to 3 meter swells and a 15 knot South Easterly wind.'On arrival on-scene the patient was assisted down the gang plank onto our sea rescue craft and brought ashore where a Guardmed ambulance has transported the patient to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.'IMG_9601 sml (Picture: Sheryll Grobler)IMG_9603 sml (Picture: Sheryll Grobler)IMG_9605 sml (Picture: Sheryll Grobler)
