We spent the day with Safmarine, the sponsors of Spirit of Safmarine III our 10m rescue boat at Station 10 Simonstown.Dirk Hoffmann, Safmarine SA's MD, his family and students Kyle, Lwando, Gershwyn and Shannon from the Lawhill Maritime Centre spent the morning at sea with our crew. The rescue boat has been in for a major refit which involved stripping it down 'like a meccano set' and building her back up. The work was carried out by the meticulous team at Tree Tops Marine. To make the day even more special John Cowlen, the Commodore of the False Bay Yacht Club, handed over a cheque to the value of R61 038.60 from their members. Thank you so much for this generous support.Pic: Debbie Owen Steve Thomas hands out lifejackets to our guests Pic: Debbie OwenPic: Debbie Owen Safmarine's Maria Webster with the students Pic: Debbie OwenPic: Debbie Owen Robbie Robinson with the guests Pic: Debbie OwenPic: Debbie Owen Pic: Debbie OwenPic: Debbie Owen Pic: Debbie Owen
