Northern KZN WaterWise Instructor, Lwazi Fihlela, visited schools surrounding the Tugela River in the Nkandla Local Municipality. There have been numerous reports of drowning of children in the schools around the Tugela River. The WaterWise lessons equip the learners with vital information on how to prevent drowning and what to do in case there is an emergency. The nearest heath facility with an ambulance is about 40 km away making on gravel road, making basic CPR skills very valuable for these learners.Lwazi is sponsored by TNPA.
