Andre Fletcher, NSRI Durban deputy station commander, said:'At 08h45, Saturday, 19th July, NSRI Durban volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of jet-ski with motor difficulties 300 meters behind back line at Umhlanga with 2 local male crew onboard and drifting off-shore in a light South Westerly wind.'Our NSRI volunteer sea rescue duty crew at the Durban Boat Show hooked up the sea rescue craft Eikos Rescuer II on her trailer to our sea rescue vehicle and responded and launched at Vechies Pier.'On arrival on-scene we located the two men with their jet ski and we established tow line and towed them to Vechies Pier from where they had launched earlier and additional NSRI crew were on hand to assist to recover their jet ski to their trailer and no further assistance was required.'photo
