On 26th May Debbie Smith, WaterWise Instructor in Port St Johns, did her last visit to the Roman Catholic JSS school to teach Grades 7-9.This is her report:Whilst waiting for them to finish their 10 minute lunch break, there were a bunch of younger learners that called out to me by name and they started to sing and demonstrate the 10177 number in GREAT excitement. I grabbed my camera and was totally mobbed by these children. There was pushing and shoving, the crowd got larger in number and they all joined in with the singing, demonstrating and shouting the number out.We high fived and it became a stampede to all get to high five the NSRI WaterWise Instructor. Low five’s, high fives, baby fives, you name it they did it. I decided to walk towards the Principal’s office to escape the mob and they followed right to the door. In their haste to high five, one little girl got slapped in the face with all the high fives going on – no one seemed to notice that they had misplaced their high five. It was chaos and it gave the feeling of why movie stars run from the media and fans if this was anything to go by. Such happy faces, such excitement at our presence at this school. What a way to end off our WaterWise education at this school.

Happy, Safe children.
