March 2014 saw the start of the WaterWise project in Port St John’s, Transkei, Eastern Cape. The project has been welcomed with open arms and massive smiles and although it was a late start we managed to educate 813 children on Water Safety. The project is a vital one for the area as there is a high incidence of drownings here and the education will be of massive benefit to all.Due to the area of 2nd beach being named as one of the worst shark attack beaches in the world, we have managed to add on some minutes in time to our WaterSafety programme at most classes and have introduced an ocean awareness segment to this.We are very proud to be making a difference to all the children who have attended / will attend this project.WaterWise Instructor Debbie Smith in action teaching water safety.
