Long night tow for Table Bay:

SEA RESCUE – Cape Town – Thursday, 06th March, 2014. Yacht assisted:At 23h04 on Wednesday 5th March, NSRI Table Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched the sea rescue craft SPIRIT OF VODACOM to rendezvous with the 34 foot yacht SACRED IBIS sailing from Port Owen to Cape Town and suffering mechanical motor failure, 23 nautical miles from Cape Town, off Boknes, on the West Coast.Pat van Eyssen, NSRI Table Bay station commander, said:“Plumstead couple Tom Ambrose, 69, and Heather Ambrose, 68, departed Port Own on the 4th March and on the Wednesday, 5th March, experienced motor problems and a low battery and close to shipping lanes the Transnet National Ports Authority activated NSRI Table Bay to go to their assistance.'On arrival on-scene the yacht was towed by our sea rescue craft to Table Bay where she was safely berthed at 04h30 this morning, 06th March, without incident.'These pictures are available on Sea Rescue's Flickr page.
