On Saturday the 1st of February, NSRI Port Edward volunteers responded 3km outside of Port Edward after a farmer had contacted them for assistance after coming across a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles.NSRI Port Edward activated the Emergency Services while responding to assist.On arrival at the scene, NSRI volunteers administered medical care to a 24 year old man who was stabilised suffering serious lacerations, a fractured arm and a head injury. The Emergency Services, Netcare 911 ambulance services, Police, Fire and Rescue Services arrived on the scene and paramedics took over the care of the patient who was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.People in the second vehicle were not injured.198208_116105351800655_5137611_n
