Fisherman medivaced off fishing boat

At 09h17 on Tuesday the 11th of February, NSRI Port Alfred volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated to respond 19 nautical miles from Port Alfred and 1 nautical mile off Boknes, to medically assist a 46 year old fisherman, from Bushmans River, suffering epileptic seizures onboard the 6 meter fishing boat PLEASURE QUEEN II.Our NSRI Port Alfred volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft LOTTO CHALLENGER and on arrival on-scene, treated the fisherman, suffering continuous seizures, in a stable but serious condition. He was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought to Port Alfred where a Gaurdmed ambulance transported him to hospital for further treatment.
