RIP Dale Panagos:

Hout Bay NSRI volunteer Dale Panagos passed away in hospital at 21:30 last night. Her wish is for her ashes to be scattered at sea. This will happen from the Hout Bay Rescue boat Nadine Gordimer on Monday morning 16 December, under East Fort. There will be a 3 gun salvo from East Fort by the Hout Bay Heritage Trust Gunners.Dale was born on 28th September 1994 and joined Sea Rescue on 20th April 2011. In the short time that she was a member of Hout Bay NSRI she gained the trust and admiration of her fellow volunteers and logged an impressive 98.5 hours at sea. Dale was awarded her Crew Badge.For the short time she was on Station, she achieved a lot including her marine radio license, fire fighting, helicopter underwater escape training, first aid level III, life raft training and she was chosen to join the SA Whale Disentanglement Unit.Dale was a remarkable young woman.
