When our crew from Station 25 Hartbeespoort Dam sent an article in the local Kormorant Newspaper, they hoped to attract a couple of new volunteers. It was far more successful than that, attracting 7 new volunteers and securing a sponsorship of 4 Icom radios.Last Sunday, 24th November, a representative from Multi Source , Mario Scalo, officially handed over the Icom IC-M24 handheld radios to our base, these radio's are valued at around R2 500. Multi Source have also offered to service our existing base station and boat radio free of charge. This could not have come at a better time as we only had one handheld on station and our boat radio is in need of a service. In the picture attached is: Mario Scalco (Multi Source Representative) and Michael Saunders (Dept Statcom Stn 25) Mario Scalco (Multi Source Representative) and Michael Saunders (Dept Statcom Stn 25)
