Station 8‘s Margi Benson has retired after 25 years of voluntary work at Hout Bay where she has, for most of that time, been affectionately known as the station “mother.”Appointed by then Station Commander Ken Brady to help with the stations administration Margi quickly worked her way into the hearts of the volunteers. 

Present Station commander Lyall Pringle says that Margi has been the controller for his crew since he joined NSRI. “ Its really going to be sad not having Margi around,” said Lyall.Margi Benson. Margi Benson.
