Spirit of Iffley brings the fisherman to shore.At 07h23 on Tuesday the 23 of April, Yzerfontein duty crew were called out following reports from a local VHF radio watchman, Marius van Rhyn, that the local quota crayfish fishing boat BEN YAMI was bringing in a 33 year old crewman with an injured left hand.Rudi Rogers, NSRI Yzerfontein station commander, said: 'Our NSRI Yzerfontein volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched SPIRIT OF IFFLEY and responded to rendezvous with the boat just outside of Yzerfontein harbour.'We took the injured crewman, who is from Doringbaai, onto our sea rescue boat. He had lacerations and swelling of his left hand reportedly sustained while retrieving crayfish traps.'First Choice medics were activated to meet us on arrival in the harbour and they attended to the man's hand. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment by representatives of his fishing company Oceana Fishing.'
