At 10h47 on Monday the 4th of March, the Strandfontein volunteers were called out following reports of a boat capsized off the Strandfontein Pavilion, on the False Bay Coast.Mario Fredericks, NSRI Strandfontein station commander, said that the Strandfontein volunteers responded to prepare to launch our sea rescue craft and NSRI Strandfontein rescue swimmers responded directly to the scene.On arrival on-scene we found all four persons, from a trek fishing boat which capsized in the surf line were safely ashore. They had swum and waded ashore. They had all been wearing life-jackets.The 4 local trek fishermen were checked by our NSRI medics but were not injured and no further assistance was required.A polar bear at Strandfontein Pavilion??
