Turn panic into a PLAN at Curry's Post Primary.CURRY’S POST PRIMARY SCHOOL (about 100 learners) is situated 25kms from Howick in rural KZN. Up high in the hills there is no problem with rivers but on a very hot day like today it was easy to understand the sometimes sheepish admissions of the children that they swim in farm dams. The pupils all spoke good English and even Grade 1’s happily chatted to volunteer WaterWise Instructor Annie Waterhouse. The water safety workshop was taught to Grade 7’s and then a small group of Grade 1’s. Changing PANIC into a PLAN made an impact in the Grade 7 class and the Grade 1’s were happy to learn the emergency number song and what to do with it should an emergency arise. The school is assisted by the Curry’s Post Educational Trust (with both funding and expertise) and this was very obvious in the attitudes of the principal, the teachers and the learners. A very happy learning environment!WaterWise is proudly sponsored by TNPA.
Beware of hazards, say hello and call for help!
