Port Elizabeth WaterWise educator, Marcus Oshry, has been teaching children to be WaterWise in conjunction with an initiative with SwimSA and TNPA at St. George's Strand in Port Elizabeth.SwimSA has been teaching the children how to swim safely in the shallows at the beach by teaching them body boarding, duck diving and coping with waves.WaterWise added to their program by teaching the kids bystander CPR. The program has been well received and has proved to make one of our most notorious beaches safer over the period. The reasons for this may be a better safety presence on the beach by the volunteers providing the program as well as the knowledge imparted to the children and their parents.WaterWise is proudly sponsored by TNPA. Swim only when lifesavers are on duty. Stay between their flags. The programme was run at St. George's Strand in Port Elizabeth. Children were taught hands only CPR by WaterWise instructor Marcus Oshry.
