Jacques taking Martin out on Rotary Ann.Shelly Beach volunteers joined the Richards Bay crew for the long weekend to do some 4m training and a bit of 4x4 driving. Training started first thing on Saturday morning with both crews making their way to Palm Beach. After a safety briefing and a little local knowledge Coxwains had the chance to take both 4m rescue crafts out through the surf. Lourens & David coming into shore.Once training for the day had been completed the Shelly Beach crew members had the chance to go out on The Spirit of Richards Bay before ending the day with a potjie.On the Sunday the first half of the day was spent up the coast familiarizing the crews with beach driving before commencing with some final 4m training.All in all the Shelly Beach crews were exposed to new conditions and training under a different command thereby honing their skills and expanding their knowledge.Photographs by Brynn Gericke and Norman Rautenbach: Werner Smit putting the final touches to the evening meal.
