The Richards Bay crew lent a hand in the annual beach clean-up reports Brynn Gericke. We received permission from Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife's Truman Buthelezi for our NSRI vehicle accompanied by three other vehicles to clean the beach from Amatikulu to Mtunzini. Our crew gathered on Saturday morning despite the dismal weather conditions and made our way to the designated area , cleaning the parking area whilst waiting for our rescue vehicle who responded to an accident scene on the way.Once our vehicle arrived we made our way down to the beach. Our crew also made use of this time to farmiliarise themselves with access points etc as it was part of our response area.In the end we collected approximately 400kg's of various items from plastic, shoes, tyres, bottles etc.
