Our five WaterWise educators were hosted in Cape Town for a strategy planning session over Friday and Saturday.
Marcus Oshry from PE, Fortune Sibiya from Pretoria, Lwazi Fihlela from Durban, Eoudia Erasmus from Ceres and Charles McHelm from Cape Town all met at Winchester Mansions for an informal (and kindly sponsored by the hotel) tea before moving to Head Office and starting the program.
First up was our new 10 minute WaterWise DVD followed by a training session by instructors from the Ambulance Training College on the new CPR protocols for bystander CPR.
The team then moved off to the Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge in the Waterfront .
Their general Manager, Charl Van Wyk, had generously sponsored the conference room, lunch, accommodation for the 5 educators and breakfast on saturday morning! The planning sessions were hugely valuable and very motivating … stand by for new ideas from WaterWise.
The dinner on Friday night was sponsored by Pepenero restaurant. A delicious meal and what made it really special was that the manager, Anthony, took the time to welcome the team and tell them what a fabulous job they are doing … how special is that?
Saturday morning saw the last set of meetings and then perhaps the highlight of the stay… a trip into Table Bay on the Spirit of Vodacom. By lunch time the educators were on their way home with new energy and new ideas.
It was the first time that all our WaterWise educators have been together and, along with the aforementioned sponsors, we must thank Avis and CL Back & Co. for the gifts that made our team feel special.
