On Saturday the 14th of May, students from the NMMU business studies programme came down to station 6 to hand over a cheque. They had collected R1200.00 for Sea Rescue as part of their Social Responsibilities programme. The money was put to good use straight away with the purchase of yellow road marking paint to refresh the no-parking signs and the chevrons in front of the garages that house the boats and rescue vehicle. The balance of the funds will be used for various projects around the station to ensure everything keeps running smoothly. The students were given a tour of the base and taken for a trip around the harbour to experience first hand what it is to be a Sea Rescue volunteer.
