The St Francis College visited their local NSRI – Station 21 ( St Francis Bay) and Grade 4 pupil Cailyn Ellis wrote a report. This is what she said.

On Thursday we went to the Port Harbour to learn about saving lives at the NSRI.
N stands for National
S stands for Sea
R stands for Rescue
I stands for Institute
I learnt what the front of boat is called a bow and the back is called a stern.There is a rope so that you can tie it to the boat, there was an anchor and an emergency kit on the boat.
You must PLAN for when you are going to the beach.
P stands for Planning
L stands for Look for Lifeguards
A stands for Adult
N stands for Never Swim Alone
When you are on the beach and there is a rip and you don’t care about it, and you have a floaty thing you will get pulled out to sea and a wave can kill you, and your floaty thing will float back to shore without you, just for an example.
