“Spirit of Toft”, Port Elizabeth’s 10m Brede deep sea rescue craft, is well into her refit in Durban’s East Coast Yachts boat yard. According to Operations Manager Mark Hughes, the 27 year old ex-RNLI lifeboat is in excellent condition.“East Coast Yachts refitted ‘Spirit of Richards Bay’. They are good, and this refit will add another 15 years to ‘Toft.’“She is getting two new 330HP Volvo D6’s with ZF gearboxes, a complete rewiring and total repaint. She will come out of there as good as new,” said Mark.
