The naming of the new Shelly Beach 5.5 metre rescue boat took place this weekend.Hibiscus Coast Mayor Mrs Shusha did the honors, officially naming Caltex Challenger II. The brand new Gemini was delivered to the station in early December and after quickly completing her sea trials, she was put into service and in the interim has done four operations.She replaces Caltex Challenger, the 5.5 rescue boat that served the Shelly beach community for the past sixteen years.
