If someone is not breathing:Call the emergency number 112 from your cell phone, explain what the emergency is and where you are and then:Move clothes out of the way and put the heel of one hand on the lower half of the breastbone.Put the heel of your other hand on top of the first hand.Fingers of the top hand entangled with the bottom hand with the palm facing downwards. Keep your arms straight.It is a rocking motion that comes from your back – not the strength of your arms.Push straight down at least 2 inches at a rate of at least 100 pushes a minute.After each push, let the chest come back up to its normal position.Keep pushing until the person starts to breath or move or someone with more advanced training takes over.Never practise this on a conscious person.
