Richards Bay volunteers visited Port Edward’s rescue base last weekend to practice surf launch and share rescue strategies. The Richards Bay crew are harbour based and seldom surf launch, while the Station 32 guys are experts at getting their craft through surf.Despite the four hour drive, the six Station 19 crew arrived early on Saturday morning, had a quick briefing on how the surf launching would be handled and what was expected. They then proceeded to leave a bouy out at sea, did some navigation & localknowledge for an hour or so ... and then searched for the bouy again. And yes, they did find it!
