Built in Cape Town by Two Oceans Marine, Rescue 6 is a next-generation Offshore Rescue Craft now stationed in Gqeberha. Designed for extreme conditions, she’s self-righting, 14.8m long, and can operate up to 50 nautical miles offshore. “She is a huge step up from what we are used to,” says Station Commander Justin Erasmus. “She will make a real difference to crew safety and the operations we can safely carry out.” Part of NSRI’s fleet replacement programme, Rescue 6 can carry 23 survivors and six crew in shock-absorbing seats—combining advanced safety, speed, and South African engineering.
