Two local men are safe and unhurt after NSRI St Lucia crew brought them ashore from a fishing ski-boat that suffered steering failure in the surf zone off Ingwe Beach on Monday, 5 October.
At 15h15 on Monday, 5 October, NSRI St Lucia duty crew were activated following reports of a local fishing ski-boat suffering steering failure offshore of Ingwe Beach, St Lucia, in the surf zone, with two local men onboard.
The NSRI rescue vehicle, towing the rescue craft Rescue 40 Alpha, responded, and the rescue craft was launched on the scene.
The crew reached the ski-boat in the surf zone, where both men were transferred onto the rescue craft and brought safely ashore. Neither was injured.
An NSRI rescue swimmer remained with the casualty boat, which subsequently capsized in the surf zone. The rescue craft returned to the vessel, and she was recovered to the shore without incident.
