In two separate incidents on Monday, 6 April, and Tuesday, 7 April, National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Plettenberg Bay crews assisted injured patients at Robberg Nature Reserve and Keurbooms Beach.

On Monday afternoon, NSRI crews responded to a 62-year-old tourist who sustained an injury while hiking at Robberg Nature Reserve. With sea conditions unfavourable for a marine response, crews hiked to her location at “The Gap,” where she was stabilised before being carefully carried to the parking area. She was then transported to hospital for further care. She is expected to make a full recovery.

On Tuesday, NSRI responded to a 68-year-old woman injured near Cathedral Rock at Keurbooms Beach after being caught by incoming waves while walking at low tide. She was treated and stabilised on scene before being carried off the beach and transported to hospital. She remains under medical care and is expected to recover.

NSRI thanks all role players involved for their coordinated response and care.

🙏 We wish both patients a speedy recovery.
