Sunday, 12 April, NSRI St Helena Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from a local 5-metre fishing craft with two fishermen onboard, reporting engine failure approximately 3 nautical miles offshore of Sandy Point Lighthouse.
The NSRI rescue craft Rotary Onwards was launched, and on arrival on scene a towline was established.
The casualty vessel was safely towed to St Helena Bay Harbour without incident, where the craft was recovered.
Both fishermen were unharmed and no further assistance was required. Thank you to our volunteer crew for their swift response and dedication.
